Hello Punters,

 

Today I have several things that need to find new homes.

 

1. ‘Casamia Queen-size Bed’ plus ‘Sports Art Stationary Bike’ Package Deal 350,000 won.

 

   A). The bed.

As you can see, this is a nice looking bed. Nothing fancy or anything but it is very good quality – Wood and Metal framing. Queen-size seems to be a good size for Korean houses also, as the rooms here are not always big enough to comfortably allow for larger beds.

 

The mattress is quite firm, so it will suit someone who prefers that. Assembly is a piece of cake. The only reason I am selling it is that we just got a double-king (which is massive!), so I just don’t need it.

 

   B). The Bike.

 

The bike is a SportsArt 5003c, made in America. This bike is a commercial grade piece of gym equipment. It is not like the Home Shopping garbage that you see on TV or the cheapo stuff on Gmarket. When it was bought (which honestly was quite a while back), the brand-new price was 2.3 million won. My wife's uncle has a gym equipment store in Ulsan and this was the most expensive model on his floor. Most of these sold in Korea probably ended up in gyms. The gym across the street from me has two of these.

 

As bikes go, this one is well constructed and solid. Altogether, it probably weighs about 60kgs. The reason for the weight is the fact that it has a 100lb iron fly-wheel inside it. Using magnetic resistance, the fly-wheel provides an utterly smooth pedaling experience. There is no weird jerky feeling that you get from belt-resistance bikes. Fortunately, it is made with some built-in wheels on one end, so that you can tip it up and easily wheel it around (without that, it would be a bear to move). It also has an internal generator which powers a fairly simple computer. The screen gives 12 exercise programs of various and increasing intensity. The rider can select the program, time or distance. The rider can also select the level of difficulty which goes from 80watts all the way up to 320watts. In my experience, 80 is easy but 320 will kill you. I should also add that it has a very wide and comfortable seat made for American bums, that won't cut you in half like most bike seats do.

 

This bike will be great during the winter if you want to pedal away in front of the TV, instead of having to go outside. Or this bike will be great if you want to do some hard-core H.I.I.T. (High Intensity Interval Training). It is not 'flash' or 'fancy' but if I had to sum it up in one word, I would describe it as 'Indestructible'. It will last forever and you won't be disappointed with its quality. You could go on Korean Yahoo shopping, and find something as cheap or cheaper. However, there is nothing cheap or "Made in China"-like about this item. SportsArt equipment is made in America and has a superior reputation. As for condition, on the one hand I haven't really used it that much so mechanically it is in excellent shape. There is nothing wrong, nor any sign of anything about to go wrong (it seems like ever). But on the other hand, to be quite honest with any prospective buyers, there are some puncture marks on the seat and a few on the foam handles from my cats' claws that I am not too happy about. Also, one of the roller wheels has had the rubber wheel surround (think of a tire) come off. However, it is still functional. There are a couple of metal areas (screws and nuts etc) showing a little rusting. Apart from these minor things, it is a perfect specimen which exudes quality and longevity in every respect.

 

***Finally, anyone considering buying the bed and bike should keep in mind that it will cost the buyer about 100,000won to get a guy with a truck to deliver these things. I can organize delivery if you should require it. I am selling them together because of the reduced cost of delivery.

 

2. Dog – Schnauser – Free to a good home.

 

This poor dog’s name is Ruby. She has had an unhappy start in life. She was bought by a hooker who didn’t take very good care of her. This lady was coming home late every night, drunk off ‘er scone, so she pretty quickly realized that she wasn’t able to take care of her properly. She then decided to keep Ruby at the vet’s clinic across the street from our house (which was how we met her). However, before she brought Ruby to the clinic she let her wander outside one day and she got knocked up. Ruby had six puppies and we found homes for all of them by placing an ad on Pusanweb last year. So that worked out. After that, the vet fixed Ruby so that accidents like that wouldn’t happen again.

 

However, as time went on, although she periodically gave the vet some money, the lady visited her less and less. Finally, this week she told the vet that she didn’t want Ruby anymore and that he should do whatever he wants with her – she won’t be responsible for her anymore! Poor Ruby!

 

Now, Ruby is a nice dog. My wife and I keep two dogs there at the vet’s clinic (well, it’s a kind of shared ownership arrangement with the vet), and we have been walking Ruby with our dogs for a while now. We feel sorry for Ruby and we would like to find a home for her with someone who will be responsible and care for her properly. If anyone is interested, please contact me and we will set something up.

 

Ruby has had good care at the clinic. Her health is good and all her shots are up to date. She has a sweet personality and will make someone an excellent pet. Please give me a call.

I have used this connected to both a computer and a game console (Xbox 360). It provided such powerful vibration that it eventually destroyed the chair. I didn’t care about that chair anyway, but the point is that it is very powerful. You will need a sturdy computer/office chair for this. If it isn’t sturdy, then it will get destroyed. It was fun for me, but these days I am using a speaker set-up with an 8-inch subwoofer, and because I live on the first floor now, I no longer care about noise bothering the neighbours.

 

4. Used Computer - 625 to 770,000won

 

This computer and monitor are kicking around my place right now. The computer isn’t doing anything for me so it needs to go. At present it has an old Intel Duo-core E6350 build in it, but I doubt anyone is interested in that. So I figure it needs a rebuild to get it out the door. I am proposing to build it with second hand parts at a cheap and reasonable price something like this:
