Jeff,

You are truly the bomb. So ... to finish our conversation, one thing I know I'll be doing ten years from now is still being friends with you.
Thanks ...

Of all the idiosyncracies that Korea people think of as
normal, but westerners find strange, the most intense, bar
none, is that while you almost never see a Korean couple kiss
or hug in public or on tv, they have co-ed bathrooms!

how interesting...
It reminds me when I traveled some small cities in Japan, they had kind of a local information booklet which has, where is the hot place to eat the food, and meet the people, you know, that kind of stuffs. Well I guess now the internet things took over it.
Good luck and wish you all the very best.

My friend is in a big problem.
Here is the story.
He is now in the late 30's. Once married and divorced. One daughter. He met a mexican woman while he was doing work in Mexico. They want to get married. The thing is they can't get married in Mexico by the church because he once got married in church. She 'has to get married in church'. that is her customs. She is in early 20's. Her family would kill him if they know that except her mother.
What should I tell him and his girl friend?

I lo
I am not sure if I still love him or not. Maybe?
I was afraid of loving somebody after we broke up. I became a different person, who didn't seem to know how to love somebody. I didn't want to be in love again.
I was a fool. Letting him go, I didn't say anything. I just accepted his decision like always. The only one thing I could do was to cry on my friend's shoulder all night.
One day I saw him with a beautiful lady on the street. On my way home... I was sad, but I was happy for them.

A year ago, we met again. I found he changed a lot. I loved to tell him that I loved him so much freely, but nI didn't..That was our last meeting.
Sometimes I miss him very much, but now we are too far from each other...
We might see different direction of life now. I don't thing we can go back to the days when we loved each other now. It's too late and I am not the girl who he used to love any more.
If somebody asks me what love is, my answer would be' I don't know.'

I think I was very lucky to meet such a beautiful person like him.
I know I am his world.
I love him.
Yesterday I uncovered my old memory about my past lover.
I wondered about him.

I guess now it's time for me to let him go out of my old memory.

I am saying good bye to him now... I want to say to him I loved him so much...

I am happy now. I am ready to love somebody again, so I guess I can let him go out of my head...
I feel sad in some parts, but what I can do.. I don't want to see my lover hurt because I know the pain
I just wish we'll be happy together.

Just for your info. If anyone is making a trip to Kyoto in the future - here are the directions to the tomb of ears. This is a mound of buried ears brought back from the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592.
From Kyoto station, take Shichijodori east to Kyoto National Museum. At the corner with the museum, turn left (north) and go to the entrance of Toyokuni shrine (dedicated to Hideyoshi).
If you look down the road due west, the Ear Tomb is the mound off to the left of the road.
For a map and photo go to http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Fields/7800/ktrip/mimizaka.html

and wanted someone who can speak a little Korean (I was there last year), I'd be happy to help out.

And Jeff, how is the Year 2000 roll-over going to effect you and PusanWeb?
I'm working on the Y2K project in the biomedical engineering department

Hi, everybody

It's cloudy here. I want to go back to my room and want to rest, but I can't still get out of the library.
I am a smart cookie who is dying, missing my country. Hi, my dear friends and mama. I love you all very much XOXOXOXOX!!!
I am well and behind papers and projects, still alive in this lonely planet. I was crazy, why I came here..

Jeff, have lots of Korean food for me. Have Kimchi a lot. I just had Ranch dressing with brocc. :-) I'll write you in Paris. I'll go to Germany in the middle of Dec. I don't want to spend Christmas alone here. Be well and pray for me. I am too busy doing projects.

Talk to you soon and be well!
