A while back I ran into another foreigner that was, well almost crying. Why you might be asking yourself? Well he stopped me and asked me a very simple question Wwhere is the grocery store? I told him then asked him how long he had been here. He said for only four days. Oh, I said and asked him if he had any questions or needed any help. I saw that he had tears in his eyes and was very frustrated. I invited him for coffee and I would buy. We spoke for about an hour and one of his questions struck the old chainsaw as heart. He asked me why the foreigners here were so unfriendly? I could not believe this. Then he told me how he had tried to ask some questions and they wouldn qt even look at him. Some people he asked on the street would just turn away or wave him off. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS ALL ABOUT? I couldnHAt answer him. But I too have noticed that foreigners won wt make eye contact or nod. Like we used to. Try to remember there are people here who are lonely, scared or even lost and desperately need your help. They may not want to sleep with you or if they do they might not want a long lasting affair. DID YOU THINK THAT MAYBE THEY MIGHT NEED HELP? Another thing that really bugs me is the expression AnBeen there, done thatth. This seems to be the most demoralizing statement one person can make to another here. Yes, I have done a lot since I have been here, but say what I have suffered through in a way which may help the other person. Is it possible that some of us forget our manners when we arrive here? Maybe I am old fashioned, crazy or naïve (editors note: well..you know) but an acknowledgement doesn dt have to mean marriage. But the rudest thing I have heard about has got to be the waving off. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS ALL ABOUT? I guess that you wavers have forgot what it was like here when you first got here and didnhat know anyone. But listen BUD or shall I say Butthead, lets try to show a little respect to each other and not practice in the racism that we are sometimes subjected to in this country. Come on people tlets show some respect to each other. Itles springtime and we should all try to turn over a new leaf and lend a helping hand to each other.
