Eat Bulaga Philippine Restaurant
By Michael Lesser

Eat Bulaga is on Texas Street next to "Jimmy Allseasons" across from a 24 hour convenience store. To find it go to at Pusan Station, and head over Texas Street.  Their phone number is 466-5660.

This place is a real adventure.  My friend said he felt like he was back in the Philippines when he walked in.  It's estimated that 20,000 people from the Philippines are living in Korea.  Now that's a large expatriate community!  While my two friends and I were waiting for the waitress to take our order, a Filipino walked in, carrying two plates.  He saw a friend, swung around, and screamed "Hey, Pedro!"  He  hugged his friend and forgot that he was holding the plates.  The plates went flying, and shattered all over the floor.  The entire restaurant broke out in laughter!

The hostess, Teresa, as well as the other employees will be happy to describe each meal on the menu, in case you are not familiar with Filipino cuisine, in perfect English.  The dishes range in price from 8,000 to 16,000 won.  Some of the dishes include sinigang na isda/baboy, sinigang na sugpo, and pancil canton, among many others.  Now you are probably saying, "what?"  They make rice dishes with shrimp, lentils, chicken, pork, or liver.  They also serve soups, and a Portuguese blood dish called "mongo" – yummy!

I ordered pancil canton, a noodle dish mixed with lemon, liver and octopus.  It cost 13,000 won, but I told Teresa that I wanted something that cost 10,000 won.  She said that she would just deduct a 3,000 won portion off of the pancil canton plate. Teresa also gave me two cokes, on the house.

This place doesn't take credit cards.
