THE GRAFFITI WALL
The Graffiti Wall has been temporarily closed.  I apologize to those whose postings have helped make this one of the most dynamic parts of the site and those who enjoy checking out the latest scrawls. It truly saddens me to do this - I realize it makes the site less interesting, reduces traffic, and prevents the open exchange of ideas and opinions that can be both entertaining and useful.  It's just a matter of logistics. While I am out of town working on other projects, I simply don't have the time to constantly edit out the hateful, personal attacks that have recently become so common.
My vision for this site (which I still consider to be in its very early stages of development, btw) is that it serves to inform, entertain, educate, and build a mutual understanding between Pusan's Korean and foreign communities.   Providing a forum for people to share their perspectives (positive and negative) is a vital part of this vision, and until now this page has been a small step in that direction.  Although some of you out there would counter this with explicative filled, hateful postings, I very much believe in free speech.  However, my contribution to its protection does not include providing a public space for people to write offensive and unfounded personal attacks... and since I'm the guy who has spent so much time and energy building this site (not to mention, paid all the bills), it's my right (and I also feel, my responsibility) to require certain minimum guidelines of civility.  Since these guidelines have been repeatedly ignored by a few very prolific posters, I am left with no other option but to shut things down while I am away.
When I return to Pusan in mid-February, I plan some major site renovations that will include restructuring all of these posting sections. This whole episode has given me plenty to reflect upon as I contemplate Pweb's next stage of development.  Until the posting sections come back online, feel free to email me with your comments, submit your writings for inclusion in the Writing Center, or (as some have mentioned) build your own website with a totally unedited posting board - I'll add it to the Links Section.  Again, I apologize for this temporary disruption and wish you all the very best as the Year of the Earth Rabbit draws to a close.
Editorially Yours,
Jeff Lebow
