St. Haarlem is on the 6th floor of the same building. Review:
Spacious place with a big bar and loads of seating. There is no dance
floor, and the music is played at levels which respect the frailty of the human
eardrum. It's fairly dark, so everyone is a little bit more mysterious and better-looking. There
are a couple of tables which have big ice pits in the center, and you can reach
out and grab one of about 35 different kinds of bottled beer (Tsingtao, Samuel
Adams, Warsteiner, Sapporo, Leffe Dark or Blond, to name a few, priced between
W4000 and W9000). If you're feeling fruity, they also do "Hof Cocktails"
(W2,500-W3,500), which is a 500cc draft lager laden with fruit juice (orange,
kiwi, strawberry, plum, or grape). Draft beer is cheap--500cc for W2,000 and 1,700cc
pitchers for W6,000. St. Haarlem has what appears to be a brand
new pool table in the way back. It has a nice level surface and is unobstructed.
It's dark though; the table is black-lit and the pockets and rails are lined with
green neon string. Be careful not to cue up the eight ball--it's photo-negative,
white with a black spot. A very short crawl from the Hollywood
Star--or just chill here, shoot some booze, some stick, some bull... |
