Type of Establishment: Some would say nightclub...others say Go-go bar...others say God knows.

Location: All up and down Texas Street. Texas Street is the next street parallel to the main road, opposite Pusan Station.

Review: The "nightclubs" on Texas Street do vary a little in the superficials, but they are similar enough in the essentials to warrant a single review. The idea is that male customers are joined by female companions, who expect to be bought watered-down drinks (for a whopping 10,000 won) for the privilege of talking and dancing with them. No one is obliged to buy drinks...some fellas like to try to charm the ladies out of their socks instead. If you try that approach, keep in mind that the ladies earn their money from the drinks they hustle, so they generally have very little time for charming tightwads.

These places are generally the domain of seamen and soldiers, but a few English teachers straggle in, looking for adventure and a taste of exactly what it feels like to pay a lot of money for conversation.

A male universe--but a few adventurous (non-working) ladies have been known to wander in. If you do, a word of advice--bring a friend, preferably a male if you want to avoid unwanted attention.
