After the ceremonies, an
unusual tug-of-war took place. Instead of a long rope, a small towel
was used and teammates held each other around the waist. The first
towel was shredded by the force but a stronger one was found and after
several rounds the contest moved into the waters where it soon dissolved
into a splashing beach bash.
As the afternoon wound
down, some exhausted participants rested while shovels and other utensils
were packed away for next years contest.
This young contestant
won a 3 night stay at the Chosun Beach Hotel. Rumor has it that
the prize was passed on to a lucky teacher.
