Help Animals in Korea
From the website 'about' page:
LonelyLifetime.com is a project to gather English language information useful for helping animals in Korea. This is not an animal shelter or a rescue center, I am just one person relatively new to animal welfare trying my best to help.
As an expat living in Korea for over 6 years, I’ve witnessed countless chained, caged, and stray dogs living pitiable lives all around the country. Cats possibly fare worse, as they are feared by many people and are often thought of and treated as vermin.
The problems here are widespread, and certain issues distinguish Korea from other parts of the world, but the treatment of animals is not, of course, a specifically Korean problem. However, compared to countries that have well-established animal welfare organizations and campaigns, there is a lot more work to be done here.
My goal is not only for the site to be an informational resource, but also to be a meeting point for like-minded people who can lend each other support. Please share your thoughts, experiences, questions and the information that you have gathered so that at least one more animal will find the help s/he needs to lead a better life.
If you are living in Korea and have found an abandoned/stray animal who now needs to find a permanent home, please add them to the adoption listings. Post any questions in the forums and we will try our best to help you.
Sincere thanks for visiting,
Karen
