Art Factory SUM : Grand Opening~

Tonight is opening of Art Factory SUM(see below for details). There will be music, performances and a large gathering of local artists who practice in various mediums including dance. The location is near Daedapo Beach right alongside the Naktong River. To get there you need to go to the end of the line in Shinpyung and get a taxi along the riverside highway to Machine Factory Complex 2(강변도로-->기계단지(2)). It is the last possible left turn off of the riverside highway. After that left you go down to the end of the street which is T intersection and go right the entrance is just 10 meters up on the left, it's next to a huge recycling yard which is hard to miss. The opening will kick off at 5pm and close at midnight. If interested in attending you can contact myself or the director(below). I won't be in attendance until after 8pm so I can't pop out to meet anyone until that time. If I don't answer please send a text message and I will get back to you asap.

Art Factory SUM is a new and on going artist's residency program opened in a huge factory donated by a patron of the arts for artists working in all types of media. Artists can be granted up to 6months at the factory, where they are given their own space to practice their medium, they can also reside within the complex in the group hostel. This also gives them inclusion in the group exhibitions which will be held at the on site gallery.

Currently the program is in it's infancy so facilities are basic and most artists provide their own decor and supplies/tools of their trade. Spaces are limited and and the first 6 month periods may already be filled. For more information please contact me Scott McMaster at 016-562-7268 or the director Jae-gun Cha at 011-864-8362(keep in mind he only speak Korean).
