Gwangalli Beach

Established during the Japanese Colonial Period for elementary and middle school students who were learning to swim during summer vacation, this is one of the most famous beaches in the country. Along Gwanganli are many restaurants specializing in sliced raw fish. Hotel accommodations can be found as well, just minutes from the shore. Gwangalli hosts the â€˜Busan Sea Festival’ early in August each year.

How to get to Gwangalli Beach:

1. From Busan Station, take city bus No.42, 140, 239, 240, 139 and get off at Gwanganlli Beach (runs frequently)
2. From exit 3 or 5 of Gwangan station (Busan Subway Line 2), walk 5-10 min. Totally takes 25 min.
- Take subway line no. 2 from Seomyeon and get off at Gwangan Station.
- Take subway line no. 1 from Busan Subway Station and transfer from subway line no. 1 to no. 2 at Seomyeon Station. Get off at Gwangan Station (subway line no. 2, exit 3 or 5) and walk 5 minutes.
