During a June 7 training session in Guadalajara, Mexico, broadcast by JTBC, South Korea's official World Cup rights holder, voices picked up by a hot mic were heard mocking captain Son Heung-min's military service record. One man remarked that Son ran "like a platoon leader," and another followed with an expletive-laced dismissal of players who had not completed full military service. A woman on camera could be heard warning them that the mic was on. By that point, it was too late.
