More than ten years ago, my camera took a thirty-seven-story swan dive from a concrete helipad and exploded across the pavement below. Nobody was hurt, but my pride took a beating that lasted a lot longer than the insurance claim. I kept what was left of the camera. It still sits on a shelf in my office, bent and broken, as a reminder that cameras don’t make mistakes. Photographers do.
